28. the autist has to go on holiday

Vacations are confusing for the autist. From a steady and familiar environment (with cats) head first into risk seeking travelling to unknown pastures. Loud neighbours, heat, manspreading in trains and planes, partial nudity and other discomfort.

Going on a vacation is a 5 step process: 1. Confrontation, 2. Denial, 3. Surrender and finally 4. Realisation: the actual holiday. And of course the 5. Recuperation when we are back home.

I’ll let you know about the outcome when I am back at my comfy desk.

Wish me luck!
